This
service is a little more causal than our Sunday services and
uses a spoken liturgy. Various hymns and songs, led by a pianist,
are used depending on the theme of the service.
Traditional
(w/Organ)
Sunday,
8:30 am
Our
most formal services are contained in the new (2007) "Evangelical
Lutheran Book of Worship" which retains the rich
traditions of our Lutheran Heritage. The liturgy is sung
and the hymns are classic, traditional hymns.
Non-Traditional
(w/Praise Band)
Sunday,
10:30 am
Our
least formal worship service combines elements of both traditional
and contemporary worship. Our praise band leads this service
and the liturgy is spoken. Various hymns and songs are used
depending on the theme of the service.
Risen
On
Hold (As of March 2008)
This
service is an alternative worship service (without communion)
aimed at those in their early thirties and under, though
it is open to all who would like to attend. The emphasis
is on joining together musically in worship and building
community. Communion is not served at this worship service.
Join us for emerging worship and teach every Sunday at 7:00
pm.
Lutheran
churches use a style of worship that is called a "liturgy,"
which comes from a Greek word meaning "public services."
At Bethlehem, we use a variety of liturgies.
